What the hell happened?

I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’ve been watching the destruction of the American political parties in real time.

And the weird part is, nobody seems to want to admit it’s happening.

The Republican Party I grew up with doesn’t exist anymore.

Ronald Reagan wouldn’t recognize it.

Hell, Ronald Reagan would probably get called a RINO by lunchtime.

Can you imagine Reagan showing up at a Republican convention today?

“Mr. President, what’s your position on tariffs, cryptocurrency, social media influencers, and annexing Greenland?”

And Reagan would be standing there like:

“I just wanted to cut taxes and fight communism. What the hell happened?”

And then you look at the Democrats.

Who’s the leader?

Silence.

What’s the message?

More silence.

What’s the plan?

Apparently, it’s to wait around and hope the Republicans do something crazier.

That’s not a political strategy.

That’s what I did in high school when I forgot to study for a test.

“Maybe they’ll cancel school.”

We’re watching both parties have an identity crisis at the same time.

It’s like going to a marriage counselor and finding out the marriage counselor is also getting divorced.

And meanwhile, the American people are sitting there going:

“Okay, but could somebody maybe do something about rent? Or healthcare? Or the fact that eggs now require financing?”

Because that’s what kills me.

The politicians keep telling us the economy is fantastic.

Fantastic for who?

I bought a sandwich and a drink the other day and the cashier looked at me like I was purchasing a boat.

“Sir, would you like to open a line of credit for the chips?”

And this is why I started thinking about the Truth Party.

Not because I think I’m smarter than everybody.

Not because I think I have all the answers.

But because I’m looking around at the existing answers and thinking:

“Really? This is what we’ve got?”

Two political parties spending billions of dollars a year convincing us that the other one is destroying America…

while simultaneously proving that they’re both perfectly capable of doing it themselves.

At this point, Americans don’t want left.

They don’t want right.

They want an adult.

Just one adult.

Someone who walks into Washington and says:

“Okay, everybody sit down, shut up, put your phones away, stop yelling at each other, and let’s figure out why the richest country in human history feels like it’s running a perpetual yard sale.”

Because honestly, if this is the best our political system can produce…

then maybe it’s time for the rest of us to apply for the job.
