“I set out to interview 100 complete strangers because I finally figured something out: maybe I needed to quit telling people what America thinks and start asking them.

I’ve now interviewed almost 50 people.

And I’m hearing things I did not expect.

Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different politics. But underneath all that noise, I’m beginning to see patterns—and some remarkable areas of agreement.

I’m not going to tell you my conclusions yet. That would defeat the whole experiment.

I’ve got 50 more people to listen to.

Then we’re going to put all 100 voices together and see what they actually tell us.
