Power to the People

I think one of the biggest problems in America today is that ordinary people don’t realize how much power they actually have.

We’ve been convinced that Washington has the power. Politicians have the power. Corporations have the power. The wealthy have the power.

And we’re just supposed to watch.

Bullshit.

This country was built around the idea that ordinary citizens have a voice in how we’re governed.

Your vote is power.

Your voice is power.

Your ability to talk to your neighbors is power.

Your ability to organize is power.

Think about it.

I talk to five people. Those five each talk to five more. Now we’ve got twenty-five.

Do it again—125.

Again—625.

Again—more than 3,000.

That’s how movements happen.

One person at a time.

The problem isn’t that we’re powerless.

The problem is that we’re underparticipating.

And that’s what the Truth Party is about.

I’m not asking you to give me power.

I’m asking you to recognize the power you already have.

On August 23, we’re holding our first Truth Party rally.

You don’t have to agree with me.

You don’t have to change political parties.

Just come.

Bring your questions.

Bring your ideas.

And most importantly—

bring somebody with you.

Stop being a spectator.

Become a citizen.

You already have the power.

Now let’s use it.

But first—we show up.
