From Apathy to Activism
You know what the biggest problem in America is?
It’s not Republicans.
It’s not Democrats.
It’s not inflation.
It’s not even Congress.
It’s apathy.
People have given up.
You talk to people and they all say the same thing:
“Nothing’s ever gonna change.”
Really?
That’s your plan?
Just sit there and wait for the asteroid?
Americans treat politics like a football game.
They sit on the couch yelling at the TV.
“That idiot doesn’t know what he’s doing!”
Meanwhile they’ve got cheese dip running down their shirt.
Buddy, you’re not exactly in the war room.
And people say, “Washington is corrupt!”
Yeah, no kidding.
That’s like saying, “I think Vegas might have a gambling problem.”
We’ve all figured that out.
The real question is: what are you gonna do about it?
I figured out the problem.
We treat democracy like Netflix.
We buy the subscription every four years.
Cast our vote.
Then disappear.
Then we’re shocked when the ending sucks.
That’s not how it works.
When your kid goes to school, you don’t just drop them off and vanish for thirteen years.
You join the PTA.
You volunteer.
You ask questions.
You become involved.
Because you know if you don’t show up, somebody else is making decisions for your kid.
But with government?
We disappear completely.
Then we’re stunned when lobbyists are running the place.
Well, of course they are!
They’re the only ones who showed up!
Nature hates a vacuum.
If citizens leave the room, somebody else takes the seat.
That’s why I’ve started telling people:
Stop looking for a hero.
Every election we’re like, “This guy’s gonna save us!”
Really?
The guy who can’t find his car in the parking lot is gonna save the Republic?
Good luck.
Nobody’s coming.
It’s us.
That’s the whole secret.
America isn’t a spectator sport.
It’s a participation sport.
The Founding Fathers didn’t create this country so we’d sit around arguing on Facebook with a guy named “PatriotEagle1776.”
They expected us to get involved.
So if you’re frustrated, good.
If you’re angry, good.
But do something.
Because the people benefiting from your silence are absolutely counting on your silence.
And if enough ordinary people get off the couch…
We might just scare the hell out of Washington.
That’s when the fun starts. 🎤
